Crews respond to fire at Chelsea business

CHELSEA, Maine — Crews responded to a fire at a business in Chelsea Sunday afternoon. 

The Pittston Fire Department said on social media multiple fire departments responded to River Road for a commercial building fire at a storage shed facility around 1 p.m.

The Pittston Fire Department asked drivers to avoid the area and to respect detours. The road reopened around 5 p.m., the fire department said. 

NEWS CENTER Maine has a crew at the scene located at 65 River Road working to learn more. 

Multiple people shared images and videos of the blaze on social media. 

Maine State Police Lieutenant Aaron Turcotte told NEWS CENTER Maine the state fire marshal’s office is investigating a fire in Chelsea where no injuries were reported.
