Dollar General Agrees to Pay Fine for Worker Safety

A settlement has been reached between The U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) and Dollar General Corp. in regards to federal workplace safety violations. The outcome that has been disclosed is that the Dollar General company has agreed to pay a total sum of $12 million penalty and implement extensive safety measures.

These changes include a new and updated safety management system, an increase in the role of new safety managers, and a newfound involvement of employee participation. The retailer must also promptly address future violations related to blocked exits, fire extinguishers, and storage, with penalties of $100,000 per day for non-compliance.
