AMESBURY — When Black Friday is over, downtown businesses will have the spotlight to themselves as the Amesbury Chamber of Commerce presents the annual Small Business Saturday event.
Small Business Saturday is a marketing initiative created and promoted by the American Express credit card brand to encourage holiday shopping on the Saturday after Thanksgiving in the United States, during one of the busiest shopping periods of the year.
This will be the chamber’s third time hosting Small Business Saturday.
“It’s really kind of taken off. People come to us and tell us that Small Business Saturday is their favorite day,” Chamber Executive Director Sheila Beach said.
