Maryland election board unveils new systems to boost campaign finance transparency

MARYLAND (WBFF) — The Maryland State Board of Elections has introduced its updated Maryland Campaign Reporting Information System (MD-CRIS) and Business Contribution Disclosure System (BCDS), representing a major step forward in campaign finance transparency and public access.

The new systems aim to enhance how candidates, committees, and businesses report financial activities, providing Maryland voters with faster and clearer access to information.

Jared DeMarinis, state administrator, said, “These new systems represent a significant step forward in strengthening Maryland’s framework for transparency, accountability, and efficient campaign finance administration.”

The upgrades offer real-time visibility, improved data accuracy, and automated compliance tools, ensuring secure and voter-focused election processes.
