CEDAR FALLS — The Hawkeye Farm Show gives inventors and businesses a place to showcase and sell products every year that they believe can benefit industry professionals.
However, those efforts extend well beyond the show as John D. Smith of Orlando, Florida, tells attendees.
Smith gained a little fame through ABC’s Shark Tank, a television reality show where entrepreneurs try to convince titans of the industry to invest in their young businesses.
“Before Shark Tank, people didn’t know I existed,” said Smith. “We’re not Disney, a corporation who gets publicity in droves and doesn’t necessarily need it.”
