A new group is in town — a Facebook group, that is.
Charlie Pillard, co-owner of Scent Wizards in downtown Alexander City, recently began a new Facebook group called Alexander City & Area Businesses, and it’s all about shopping local.
“(I started it) for one of two reasons,” Pillard said. “No. 1, none of the other groups that are developed here allow businesses to post, which is a missed opportunity, and the other one was because the group is designed to be an informative group. It was not designed to be a complaint group. I made sure we are keeping it nice and clean.”
