BERNAMA – US DOLLAR TICKS DOWN

NEW YORK, May 25 (Bernama-Xinhua) — The US dollar weakened in late trading on Friday, reported Xinhua. 

The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, lost 0.37 per cent to 104.724 at 3.00 pm (1900GMT).

In late New York trading, the euro was up to US$1.0850 from US$1.0805 in the previous session, and the British pound rose to US$1.2738 from US$1.2686 in the previous session.

The US dollar bought 156.98 Japanese yen, higher than 156.90 Japanese yen of the previous session. The US dollar declined to 0.9146 Swiss francs from 0.9149 Swiss francs, and it decreased to 1.3663 Canadian dollars from 1.3743 Canadian dollars. The US dollar dropped to 10.6575 Swedish kronor from 10.7486 Swedish kronor.
