We’ve been investing in Poland since 2012, with our operations scaling up every year. Here are ten key facts about how Amazon’s presence in Poland has impacted the country and its economy.
1. PLN 20bn on development
Since our first investment in Poland, namely the acquisition of the Gdańsk-based startup IVONA Software in 2012, we’ve committed more than PLN 20bn to development, or nearly PLN 5.5m a day every day for ten years. This is based on calculations by Keystone, an independent consulting firm that compiled a report on the subject for us.
2. PLN 24bn added to Polish GDP
Amazon’s investments have added PLN 24bn to Poland’s gross domestic product (GDP), significantly contributing to Poland’s economic development, an increase in income, as well as social, infrastructural, and health projects, which in turn have helped improve living conditions in the country.
