Business unusual: Two lose 64L in fish farming fraud | Delhi News

New Delhi: Lured by promises of lucrative returns from a professional fish farming venture, two businessmen were defrauded of over Rs 64 lakh and told their investment had collapsed following the death of “lakhs of larvae.” On July 24, an FIR was registered at Anand Vihar police station against two men accused of running the fraudulent scheme. The accused approached one of the complainants in Oct 2023 through a mutual acquaintance. They claimed to run a fish farming operation under a registered company and offered partnership in the business. The proposed model involved purchasing and breeding fingerlings, young fish larvae, which would then be reared for six to seven months and sold to wholesale buyers at profitable rates.
