Letter: Biden’s economy is not humming! – InForum

, I felt a need to respond to an obvious attempt by him to fool the readers.

First, he says the Biden economy is much better today than when President Trump left office. A closer inspection of actual inflation reveals a much different story than Zaleski portrayed to his readers. The U.S. inflation rate for 2021 was 4.70%, a 3.46% increase from 2020. U.S. inflation rate for 2020 was 1.23%, a 0.58% decline from 2019. U. S. inflation rate for 2019 was 1.81 %, a 0.63% decline from 2018. The inflation rate for 2018 was 2.44% and for 2017 it was 2.13%. During Bi den’s first year in office (2021) the annual inflation rate was 7 .0 % and for 2022 it was 6.5% and for 2023 it was 3.4%. At no time during Biden’s term in office has the inflation been lower than any year Trump was in office. Where Zaleski got…
